Global music icon Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce are rumoured to be planning their summer wedding at the historic Ocean House hotel in Westerly, Rhode Island. The five-star, Gilded Age-era property is located just steps from Swift's own $17.75 million Watch Hill mansion, which she has owned since 2013.

Page Six first reported the potential venue in December 2024. While Ocean House has declined to comment on the reports, Business Insider's visit to the property reveals a venue that balances grandeur, privacy, and classic New England charm, fitting for a high-profile celebration.

A Storied Seaside Retreat

Originally opened in 1868, Ocean House served as a quintessential summer retreat for affluent families before closing in 2003 due to structural issues. It was meticulously rebuilt to replicate its original appearance and reopened in 2010 as a luxury resort with 49 guest rooms and 20 signature suites.

The hotel's location in Watch Hill, a village of roughly 200 residents, offers sweeping Atlantic Ocean views and quiet, exclusive charm. Its proximity to the Westerly State Airport also allows for the discreet arrival of private jets, a likely necessity for celebrity guests.

Signs Pointing to a June Celebration

While the hotel staff maintains discretion—a waiter told Business Insider that most employees would not be informed of a high-profile event until the day of to prevent leaks—financial data suggests a major booking.

Room rates for June 12 and 13, 2025, have surged to $9,544 per night, compared to $2,073 for the following weekend. The hotel's website also shows no availability for those dates, further fuelling speculation they are blocked for a private event.

Box: Swift's Watch Hill Estate
Taylor Swift's Rhode Island home, purchased for $17.75 million in cash, is a 12,000-square-foot mansion built in 1904 with eight bedrooms. Visible from the Ocean House grounds, it could potentially serve as a primary venue with the hotel housing overflow guests.

Grandeur and Discretion for a Superstar Wedding

The resort offers a "land and sea" experience, including stays on a restored 1937 yacht that once hosted figures like Shirley Temple and President Roosevelt. Its dining options range from the casual, year-round bistro to the fine-dining COAST restaurant.

During a December visit, Business Insider found the ambience to be "elevated but comfortable," with a cozy lobby featuring a pianist and historic maritime artwork. A meal for three, including wine, appetisers, mains, and dessert, totalled $292.72.

With its combination of historic grandeur, strict privacy protocols, excellent hospitality, and immediate proximity to Swift's estate, Ocean House presents a compelling case as the rumoured venue for what would likely be an intimate, exclusive wedding rather than a large celebrity bash.
