Indian artificial intelligence startup Rocket has launched a new platform that generates detailed, consulting-style product strategy documents, positioning itself as a lower-cost alternative to traditional firms. The Surat-based company announced the launch of Rocket 1.0 on Tuesday, a platform that integrates research, product building, and competitive intelligence into a single workflow.

Rocket's CEO, Vishal Virani, stated the platform addresses a critical gap in the market, as AI-powered coding tools have made code generation a commodity. "Everyone can generate the code now… it has become a commodity. But what to build is something which everyone is missing," Virani told TechCrunch, emphasising that running a business involves more than just building a codebase.

Platform Capabilities and Pricing

The platform produces product requirement documents in PDF format from simple user prompts, covering areas such as pricing, unit economics, and go-to-market recommendations. Subscription plans are tiered, starting at $25 per month for application building, rising to $250 for strategy and research, and reaching $350 for the full platform including competitive intelligence.

Virani claims the $250 tier can generate two to three "McKinsey-grade" research reports alongside product builds, a fraction of the cost of traditional consulting engagements. For competitive analysis, Rocket draws on over 1,000 data sources, including Meta's ad libraries, the Similarweb API, and its own web crawlers.

Analysis and User Growth

Initial testing by TechCrunch indicated that while the platform synthesises known data on pricing models and user behaviour, some analysis may require independent verification by users before making business decisions. Virani confirmed the platform offers human support to assist users who encounter issues.

The startup, which raised a $15 million seed round in September from investors including Accel and Salesforce Ventures, reports significant growth. User numbers have surged from 400,000 to over 1.5 million across 180 countries since the funding round. Rocket also reports an annualised average revenue per user of approximately $4,000 and operates with gross margins exceeding 50%.

Company Structure and Future

Rocket employs 57 people and is headquartered in Surat, India, with additional operations in Palo Alto, California. The company stated that 20–30% of its customer base consists of small- and medium-sized businesses, highlighting its appeal beyond large enterprises.

The launch positions Rocket in a competitive market for AI-assisted business strategy, aiming to capitalise on the demand for affordable, data-driven decision-making tools as traditional consulting costs remain high for many organisations.
